Kazakhstan Completes Repair of 377 km of Heating Networks Ahead of New Heating Season

Kazakhstan has completed the repair of 377 km of heating networks in preparation for the new heating season. Today, the Republican Headquarters for the heating season preparation held a meeting at the Committee of State Energy Supervision and Control of the Ministry of Energy.

The meeting was attended by heads of regional administrations, representatives of companies such as "KEGOC", "Samruk-Energo", "CAEK", "NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy", "Karazhira", "Shubarkol Komir", "Shubarkol Premium", LLP "Kazakhstan Utility Systems", as well as energy enterprises in the country.

In the opening of the meeting, Committee Chairperson Ernar Khasenov outlined the main tasks for the heating season, emphasizing the need for uninterrupted operation of the energy infrastructure, ensuring that consumers receive heat, and the timely supply of coal to the population.

Currently, the heating season has started as planned in 18 regions of the country. In the Turkistan region and the city of Shymkent, the start of the heating season is scheduled according to the established timelines.

As part of the preparations for the new winter period, scheduled repairs have been completed on electrical and heating networks: 17,100 km of power lines, 444 substations, and 3,408 distribution devices and transformer substations have been repaired.

The major repair of heating networks has been completed, totaling 377 km. The largest volume of work was carried out in Akmola, Abai, East Kazakhstan, and Karaganda regions.

At power plants, equipment necessary for the heating season is operational, and repair campaigns continue alongside. In 2026, major repairs are planned for 9 power units, 55 boilers, and 51 turbines. To date, 8 power units, 47 boilers, and 31 turbines have already been repaired.

Special attention is given to coal supply issues. Coal reserves at energy enterprise storage facilities amount to 5.7 million tons, and fuel oil reserves are 130,000 tons. The demand for coal by the population and the utility sector for the upcoming heating season is 7.3 million tons. By the start of the heating season, 3.5 million tons have been prepared. The meeting emphasized the need to strengthen control over the uninterrupted supply of coal, prevent shortages, and avoid unwarranted price increases.

Participants also discussed problematic issues in the operations of certain energy enterprises and regions. Specific tasks and timeframes for their resolution have been determined for each.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Ernar Khasenov instructed to ensure the reliable operation of energy facilities, promptly address technological violations, and maintain the temperature regime in heating networks. He also instructed to enhance daily monitoring of coal yards.

Issues of reliable energy supply to the population and stable passage through the heating season are under special control by the Committee, reports ЖКХ24 with reference to the Ministry of Energy's website.
