Astana Revamps Area Around Capital Circus

In Astana, the beautification and greening efforts around the Capital Circus in the Nura district have been completed, creating a modern and comfortable recreational area for both residents and visitors, according to the official website of the Astana Mayor's Office.

As part of the beautification project, pedestrian areas, rest zones, and parking spaces have been updated, with new, modern street furniture installed. Special attention was given to the comfort of citizens: wooden overlays have been added to granite benches, and the fountain complex has been refurbished.

Additionally, decorative lighting and modern lighting poles have been installed in the area, making it more pleasant for evening strolls.

Significant greening work has also been carried out: young trees, shrubs, and perennial flowers have been planted. A local irrigation system has been arranged to maintain the greenery.

The work aims to create a safe, eco-friendly, and comfortable urban environment where residents and visitors of the capital can spend their free time, take family walks, and relax after a circus visit. The revamped area is now open for public visits and promises to be another comfortable spot for leisure and walking in the Nura district.

It is worth noting that, in the run-up to Republic Day, a number of new social and public facilities, as well as beautified spaces, are opening in Astana. Such projects are part of efforts to develop urban infrastructure and create comfortable living conditions for the city's residents and visitors.

Astana Continues Efforts to Remove Illegal Dumpsites

Astana is making steady progress in its systematic efforts to identify and eliminate illegal dumpsites. Authorities across the capital's districts are actively monitoring areas, organizing waste removal initiatives, and holding violators accountable, as reported by the official website of Astana's municipal government.

Since the beginning of the year, more than 226,000 tons of waste have been removed from the capital's districts.

In the Nura district, operations have cleared 62 sites, with over 92,700 tons of waste carted away.

The focus is particularly sharp on preventing the reemergence of illegal dumpsites and identifying those responsible for unlawful waste disposal. To date, under Article 505 of the Administrative Code of Kazakhstan, 66 individuals and 153 organizations have faced administrative penalties for violating sanitation rules.

In the Saryarka district, 16 illegal dumpsites have been identified since the start of the year, including four detected with the help of the 'Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary' system. A total of 21,660 tons of waste have been removed from this district.

In the Baikonur district at the start of 2026, over 39,000 tons of waste were transported to the eco-polygon as part of the dumpsite removal effort.

According to AO 'National Company 'Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary', eight problematic points were identified in the district, all of which have been addressed. Overall, operations covered 38 sites, including streets 101, Ushkonyr, Zhubanova, Pushkina, Ondiris, Tsiolkovska, Taiburyll, Munayshylar, as well as the Alai market area, Northern Bypass Road, Alash Avenue, Pushkin Street's railway crossing, and other locations.

In the Yesil district this year, the 'Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary' system helped identify 19 waste concentration sites at four main illegal dump locations. All 19 have been addressed, with over 45,000 tons of waste removed since the start of the year.

In the Sarayshyq district, cleanup efforts are also ongoing. To date, approximately 28,000 tons of waste have been removed. The operations utilize 10 front-end loaders and 50 dump trucks.

Cleanup is underway along Kaldayakova Street from Uly Dala Avenue to the Nurly Zhol railway station, as well as along the LRT line.

Efforts to identify and eradicate illegal dumpsites in the city are continuous. District governments are maintaining area surveillance, using modern technologies, and implementing measures to prevent the recurrence of illegal waste disposals.

Residents and business entities are urged to follow sanitation regulations and refrain from disposing of construction and household waste in unauthorized locations.
