Temirtau Assesses Winter Preparedness of GRES-1, TPP-2, and Heat Networks

Temirtau has assessed the winter readiness of GRES-1, TPP-2, and its heating networks. Deputy Chairman of the State Energy Supervision and Control Committee of the Ministry of Energy, Ernar Hasenov, inspected the progress of the maintenance campaign at key energy infrastructure sites and the city's preparation for the 2026–2027 autumn-winter period.

At Temirtau's GRES-1, major repairs are ongoing for boiler unit No. 10. Upon completion of planned activities, the station aims to enter the heating season with three boilers and two turbines.

At TPP-2 of JSC "Qarmet", major repairs of boiler unit No. 2 and extended maintenance of boiler unit No. 1 are underway. By the end of the maintenance campaign, the station is expected to be ready for the heating season with six boilers and four turbines.

Special attention is being given to the preparation of Temirtau's heating networks. The enterprise management presented details about the project "Reconstruction of Heat Networks TM No.3 on Michurina St. from VK 'Muka-Sakhar' (Karaganda Street) to TP-34, Karaganda Region, Temirtau." This year, the project includes the reconstruction of 3.8 km of heating networks. To date, around 3 km of the pipeline installation has been completed, with ongoing work on the remaining 800-meter section.

Implementing the project will enhance the reliability of heat supply to consumers, reduce thermal losses, and ensure stable operation of the heating infrastructure during peak winter demands.

Following the inspection, Ernar Hasenov instructed that all planned maintenance activities be completed on schedule while adhering to quality standards. He emphasized the importance of focusing on the technical condition of both primary and auxiliary equipment, as well as ensuring the heating networks' readiness for peak winter loads.
