Modern Technologies Used to Upgrade Underground Utility Networks in Shymkent

In Shymkent, efforts to reconstruct water supply and sewage networks are ongoing. The company “Su Resurstarı – Marketing” is employing horizontal directional drilling technology on Kazakhstan Pravda Street.

Before commencing work, specialized equipment is used to conduct necessary measurements. The depth, direction, and trajectory of the underground drilling are continuously monitored to ensure high precision.

In the next phase, a special installation creates an underground pathway in the specified direction, through which a new pipe is pulled.

The main advantage of this technology lies in its ability to update utility networks without the need for large-scale earthworks or fully exposing the road surface.

As a result, the volume of earthwork is reduced, and the inconvenience for road users and residents is minimized.

Modern technologies are the foundation of quality and efficient infrastructure, reports ZHKH24, citing the website of Shymkent’s Department of Energy and Infrastructure Development.

Heating Season in Northern and Eastern Kazakhstan to Begin by October 1

The heating season in the northern and eastern regions of Kazakhstan is expected to start by October 1. Preparations for the autumn-winter period were discussed at a Government meeting, where Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov reported on the current progress and fuel reserves at energy facilities.

“The heating season began on September 14 in the Pavlodar region. It is expected to start in the northern and eastern regions by October 1, depending on weather conditions,” stated Yerlan Akkenzhenov.

For the passage through the autumn-winter period, fuel reserves have been established at the stations: 4.9 million tons of coal and 127 thousand tons of fuel oil, along with necessary startup equipment. Repairs are being carried out on schedule: 4 power units, 30 boilers, and 19 turbines have been prepared. Modernization of 17,000 km of power lines has been completed, and work on nine substations is being finalized.

Currently, the readiness of national heating networks is estimated at 97% – out of the 377 km of planned routes, 366 km have been repaired. Authorities are monitoring the facilities in the regions of Ulytau, Abay, as well as in the North Kazakhstan and Akmola regions. In the city of Satpayev, the reconstruction of the thermal main has been completed, and the networks are undergoing flushing and pressure testing. In Petropavl, the readiness of the mains is at 95%, with work expected to conclude by the end of the week. In Stepnogorsk, readiness has reached 76%, with a completion date of September 25. In Semey, the plan completion across three projects is 70%, with the delivery of pumps and heat exchangers expected by September 26.
