Comprehensive Digital Traceability to Cover 80% of Energy Resources by 2028
By 2028, comprehensive digital traceability is expected to cover 80% of energy resources in Kazakhstan, ensuring transparency and efficiency.

Comprehensive digital traceability is set to cover 80% of energy resources by 2028. This was revealed during an onsite inspection of oil product implementation sites conducted by the Ministry of Energy in collaboration with Kuryltay Deputy Bekzhan Alimkulov.
The event was attended by Vice Minister of Energy Bakytzhan Ilyas, representatives of the Kazakhstan Fuel Association (KTA), and the JSC Information and Accounting Center (IAC).
During visits to a gas station and an oil depot, participants familiarized themselves with the existing systems for measuring and accounting petroleum products, as well as the technological processes involved in their receipt, storage, and dispensing.
Particular attention was given to issues of ensuring the reliability of accounting data, automating their transmission, integrating information systems, and enhancing mechanisms for digital control over oil product turnover.
Additionally, at the site of JSC NC KazMunayGas, a demonstration of the capabilities of digital tools for monitoring and analyzing oil product turnover was held with participation from the Ministry of Finance's representatives and the Chairman of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs 'Atameken', Kanat Sharlapayev.

The ongoing work aims to implement one of the key directions of the Digital Qazaqstan strategy — ensuring comprehensive digital traceability of the movement of energy resources with target coverage indicators: 20% by 2026, 60% by 2027, and 80% by 2028.
Creating a unified system for the digital accounting of oil and petroleum product movements at all stages — from the well to the gas station — will ensure comparable accounting data, timely detection of discrepancies, reduced resource losses, and increased transparency in their turnover.
The Ministry of Energy will continue its consistent efforts to form a unified digital contour for the accounting and control of petroleum products, integrate industry information systems, and implement modern analytical tools to enhance the efficiency of government management and transparency in the fuel and energy complex.
