Shymkent Advances in Heating Season Preparations as Per Plan

Shymkent is preparing for the 2026-2027 heating season according to an approved action plan. A special headquarters has been established to coordinate preparatory efforts, and work on preparing thermal infrastructure is being conducted in stages.

Azat Kainaruly, Deputy Head of the City's Energy and Infrastructure Development Department, shared this information during a briefing at the Regional Communication Service's information platform.

The city's thermal network stretches for a total of 838.6 kilometers, with 152 kilometers being main lines and 686.6 kilometers forming the internal neighborhood networks. The thermal network has a wear level of 37%.

Since April of this year, hydraulic tests have been conducted on both main and local networks, identifying 135 defects. Of these, 108 have been rectified. Repair work on the remaining 27 defects continues as scheduled. To date, 29 out of Shymkent's 31 autonomous boiler houses are ready, as are 15 out of 17 pumping stations and 2134 out of 2241 multi-apartment residential buildings. All 463 budgetary institutions, including those in education, healthcare, sports, culture, and employment sectors, have completed necessary preparations.

Moreover, primary equipment at AO "3-Energy Center" is being prepared for the upcoming heating season. To reduce network wear and accident rates, internal pipe diagnostics are also being conducted. Inspections have been completed on main thermal networks at seven sites with a total length of 5 kilometers and diameters up to 720 millimeters. Diagnostic work is fully complete.

Overall, efforts to prepare the city’s heating systems for the upcoming season and ensure stable heat supply to residents are ongoing in line with the approved plan, reports ЖКХ24 referencing the Shymkent City Energy and Infrastructure Development Department's website.
