Online Connection to Gas Networks Launched in Astana

Astana has launched an online service for connecting to gas networks, as part of the Ministry of Energy's efforts to digitize the fuel and energy sector. This system is expected to significantly simplify and speed up the process of connecting consumers to gas networks.

Digitization of Gas Connection

JSC "QazaqGaz Aimaq" has already digitized the process of obtaining technical conditions (TC). Currently, approximately 80%, or about 95,000 out of 120,000 applications for TC received annually, are processed online.

JSC "QazaqGaz Aimaq" is the only natural monopoly entity offering online issuance of technical conditions. This service has been available to the public through the eGov portal and the eGov Mobile app since 2023, with plans to extend it to legal entities by 2025.

Since July 1 of this year, the process of obtaining TC for new consumers has been fully transitioned online. Technical conditions are issued within the time frames established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan: within 5 days for technically simple objects and within 10 days for technically complex ones.

Plans for Further Digitization

The next phase will involve digitizing the process of connecting to gas distribution networks, including tapping and gas start-up. JSC "QazaqGaz Aimaq" plans to automate and digitize these services next year.

Currently, the service for network connection is already provided online in Astana as a pilot project. By the end of 2026, it is planned to introduce the service in Almaty and Atyrau Region, after which the project will be scaled up to all regions of the country.
