Astana Undergoes Technical Water Pipeline Reconstruction as Part of National Project

In Astana, the reconstruction of the main technical water pipeline on Dosmukhameduly Street, spanning the section from Akzhol Street to Alash Avenue, is underway. The length of the new pipeline will exceed 3 kilometers.

The project aims to enhance the reliability of the technical water supply system to meet the growing demands of the city's enterprises and organizations. The current pipeline has been in operation for over 20 years.

This network supplies technical water to approximately 80 organizations and enterprises, including CHPP-1, Astana-Tazalyk, and other industrial facilities.

As of today, construction work is 85% complete.

The need for the pipeline's reconstruction is primarily driven by an increase in the number of consumers and rising volumes of technical water consumption. Astana is rapidly developing, with expanding industrial and public infrastructure, resulting in additional pressure on existing networks.

Upon completion of the reconstruction, around 80 organizations will be supplied with technical water via the updated three-kilometer mainline, improving the system's reliability and capacity.

Road Closure in Almaty for Emergency Electrical Network Repairs

Central Street in Almaty to close from October 8-15, 2026, for urgent electrical repairs by Alatau Zharyk Company due to damaged cable.

Road Closure in Almaty for Emergency Electrical Network Repairs

In Almaty, the section of Central Street will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic from October 8 to 15, 2026, in the Bostandyk district due to emergency repairs on electrical networks.

This was reported by Alatau Zharyk Company. The repair work will be conducted at 36 Central Street and will affect the roadway. Consequently, traffic will be restricted on the section from K. Salykova Street to Zhangir Khan Street.

The repair is necessitated by damage to the 220 kV cable line No. 2363. The 220 kV ring network around Almaty includes cable lines No. 2353 and No. 2363 between substations-160A "Ermensai" and-166A "Besagash." Damage to one line disrupts the continuity of the ring, redistributes power flow, and increases load on the remaining parts of the energy system. Currently, the network is operating in an open-ended mode.

To restore the network to regular operation and avoid potential technological failures, it is urgent to repair the damage and restore the line's integrity. Since the damaged cable line is located beneath the roadway, excavation of the road surface and concrete trench is necessary for repairs. Digging will allow technicians to precisely identify the location and nature of the damage, repair the cable or cable joint, and conduct necessary tests before reactivating the line.

The work is planned to be carried out around the clock, adhering to safety standards. Alatau Zharyk Company is taking all necessary measures to expedite the completion of repairs and minimize the duration of traffic restrictions. Once repairs are completed, the road surface will be fully restored.

The closure is solely due to emergency restoration work. Alatau Zharyk Company requests that residents and visitors of Almaty consider this temporary restriction when planning routes and understand the necessary measures to restore reliable electricity supply to the city and the Almaty agglomeration.
