Almaty Akimat Highlights Contact Points for Heating Issues

As the 2026–2027 heating season approaches, a 24/7 'Rapid Response Headquarters' will be operational in Almaty. Residents experiencing heating outages, leaks, or malfunctions can contact the hotline at 109, the Unified Dispatch Center at 225-14-31, or the management bodies of apartment buildings. This was reported by the Almaty Department of Utility Infrastructure and Housing Inspection.

"Connection to the heating supply will be carried out in stages. Initially, heat will be provided to socially significant facilities, including educational, healthcare, and social protection institutions, as well as other critically important facilities. Subsequently, the connection to the heating supply will extend to apartment buildings and other structures," noted the department.

Residents are advised to check the functionality of radiators and shutoff valves in their apartments in advance. Unauthorized interference with the heating system, such as removing radiators or draining water, can lead to emergencies, system malfunctions, and heating outages in the risers.

Moreover, access to radiators and heating risers should not be blocked or covered with heavy curtains, as this reduces heat output. Caution is necessary in the early days after the heat supply begins; radiators can become very hot. Special care should be taken to ensure the safety of children and pets.

In addition to the hotline 109 and the Unified Dispatch Center, reports can be submitted through the management's official social media pages, Open Almaty, and e-Otinish.

As a reminder, the heating season in Almaty is scheduled to commence on October 9.
