First Deputy Prime Minister Nurlybek Naliyev reviews infrastructure and healthcare projects in Almaty and the Almaty Region, with significant funding allocated for 2023.

First Deputy Prime Minister Nurlybek Naliyev assessed the progress of large-scale infrastructure, social, and utility projects funded by the National Fund in Almaty and the Almaty Region.
Based on the President's directive, significant funds from the National Fund are allocated for these projects. This year alone, 1.5 trillion tenge is planned.
During his working visit, the First Deputy Prime Minister was presented with the development plan for Almaty International Airport. The project includes the modernization of terminal and runway infrastructure, construction of a new taxiway, cargo apron, and development of service facilities.
Nurlybek Naliyev inspected a section of the R-17 road "Almaty – Talgar – Baidibek bi" which spans 8 km, slated for expansion to four lanes, as well as the renovation project of a 7 km stretch of the "Almaty – Bishkek" highway. This project aims to widen the road from 4 to 8 lanes, build two interchanges, and nine overhead pedestrian crossings, thus increasing capacity on a key route between Almaty and its suburbs.
Next, the delegation visited City Clinical Hospital No. 7 in the Kalqaman district. After renovation, it will have a bed capacity of 900. The project encompasses building updates, engineering systems improvements, structural reinforcements, and installation of modern medical equipment.
According to Nurlybek Naliyev, considering the republican budget for the upcoming year, 196 billion tenge has been allocated for the city's healthcare.
"The President instructed that 60–70% of the funds be directed specifically towards healthcare facilities, as the population primarily needs modern medical infrastructure," said Nurlybek Naliyev. "It is now crucial to efficiently utilize these funds, complete all work on time, and introduce the facilities for the benefit of the public. These are very important projects under the Prime Minister's supervision," noted the First Deputy Prime Minister.

Later, the delegation reviewed the extension of Sain Street from Almaty's border to the Big Almaty Ring Road (BAKAD). The new section spans 6.6 km. The project involves road construction, engineering communications, and the erection of an overpass across the railway, which will enhance the city's connectivity with the Karasai District and BAKAD.
Another significant project for the agglomeration is the Western Sewer Collector in Almaty. The main section is 35 km, with 17.9 km of pipeline already laid. Completing the project will ensure centralized sewage disposal for around 200,000 residents of the Nauryzbay and Alatau districts in Almaty and adjacent areas of the Almaty Region.
Nurlybek Naliyev also examined the extension of Abay Avenue to BAKAD, which spans 3.4 km. This project includes road construction, a bridge over the Aksai River, and an overpass over BAKAD. The new section will provide additional exit points from Almaty and improve transport links with the Karasai District.
The final stop of the inspection was at Almaty's social facilities. The First Deputy Prime Minister visited the under-construction City Maternity Hospital No. 1 on Seifullin Street, designed for 155 beds, and a polyclinic on Aiteke Bi Street, which can accommodate 500 patients per shift.
Nurlybek Naliyev noted that several projects are intended not only for city residents but also for the entire agglomeration.
