In Kazakhstan, the Zapolsky Family's Legacy in Energy Spans 252 Years

In Kazakhstan, Labor Day is celebrated on the last Sunday of September. This day honors individuals whose hard work lays the foundation for the country's development, sustains enterprises, and passes on professional knowledge to future generations.

Three generations, nine family members, and 252 years of combined service—the Zapolsky family's journey in the electricity sector stands testament to their dedication. Today, the family's legacy is carried on by the third generation.

The dynasty was founded by Alexander Vasilievich Zapolsky, who devoted 46 years to the energy industry. He worked with "Altayenergo" and "AES Kazakhstan," receiving the Order of the Badge of Honor, the anniversary medal "For Conscientious Work," and numerous certificates of merit. His wife, Lidia Ivanovna, also dedicated 36 years at "Altayenergo."

Their three sons—Dmitry, Alexey, and Ivan—continued their parents' path. Dmitry spent 22 years in the energy sector, and his wife Tatiana Borisovna dedicated 39 years. Ivan Alexandrovich has been in the field for 30 years, and his wife Elena Georgievna for 21 years. Alexey's wife, Marina Vladimirovna, boasts 23 years in energy.

Currently, Alexey Alexandrovich Zapolsky leads the "Eastern MES" branch of JSC "KEGOC". His career began as an electrician, advancing through roles as a dispatcher, chief engineer, and branch leader. Since 1998, his professional journey has been intertwined with KEGOC.

Carrying forward the family's tradition, Alexey's son, Evgeny Zapolsky, has been working as a foreman at JSC "Electromagistral" in Novosibirsk since 2021.

For the Zapolsky family, energy has become more than just a profession; it's a part of their family history. Along with skills and knowledge, responsibility, discipline, and respect for their work are passed down through generations.

252 years of cumulative service reflect the story of multiple generations who contribute to the progress and reliability of the energy sector.
