Revamping the Area Around Astana Shopping Center in Astana

Astana is actively enhancing its urban environment. This year, the city plans to refresh 173 public and courtyard spaces, as reported by the official website of the capital's mayor's office.

One significant transformation has occurred near the well-known market and Astana Shopping Center (“Artem”)—one of the capital's busiest areas. Just a few years ago, the surrounding area looked different: old single-story buildings, minimal greenery, and an almost complete lack of comfortable spaces for people.

Today, a cozy public space has replaced the former structures. After the buildings were removed, the area was greened, with trees and perennials planted, walking paths laid out, and leisure spaces created.

Now, the area near the Astana Shopping Center (“Artem”) is not just a space between retail outlets and streets, but a fully developed zone with more greenery and comfort for residents.

Projects like these gradually transform the capital's appearance, giving back to residents areas that were once uncomfortable or barely used for leisure. The focus during these improvements is on greening, convenient pedestrian routes, and creating places where residents can enjoy a comfortable urban environment.

It's worth noting that beautification efforts are underway in all six districts of the capital. Over the past few years, around 500 public and courtyard spaces have been improved in Astana, reports ЖКХ24, citing the Astana city mayor's office website.
