Tekeli Energy Complex in Zhetisu Region Boosts Generation by 53 Megawatts

The latest phase of modernization at the Tekeli Energy Complex LLP in the Zhetisu region has been completed, resulting in the launch of three waste-heat recovery boilers and a steam turbine with a 17 MW generator. This initiative is part of the ongoing modernization of the energy complex, which has seen two phases completed since 2025. Three gas turbine units with a total capacity of 36 MW have been put into operation, altogether increasing the Tekeli Energy Complex's capacity by 53 MW.

Kazakhstan plans to commission 2.6 GW of both traditional and renewable energy capacity within this year. Specifically, 4 gas-steam plants, 4 wind farms, 5 solar power stations are set to be launched, along with the expansion of two power plants in Atyrau and Tekeli. Earlier, a gas-steam unit in Kyzylorda with a capacity of 240 megawatts was launched.

These projects will address the country's energy deficit by the first quarter of 2027 and ensure a stable surplus of electricity by 2029.
