Urban Development and Greening Continue in the Yessil District of Astana

Yessil District is undergoing significant development and transformation. The district is focusing on improving courtyards, renovating streets and public spaces, restoring urban infrastructure elements, and actively greening the area. These efforts are underway throughout the district, primarily aimed at creating a comfortable urban environment for residents, according to the official website of the Astana Akimat.

As of now, Yessil District has approximately 400 courtyards, most of which have already been improved. Last year, comprehensive improvement work was carried out in 12 courtyards. This year, as part of the 'People's Participation Budget' project, comprehensive work was conducted on another 5 courtyard areas.

Special attention is given to residents' requests received through the iKOMEK 109 platform. Last year, repair and restoration work were completed in 53 courtyards. As part of these activities, 103 small architectural forms were replaced, and repairs were conducted on 19 football fields.

This year, improvement work on the street and road network was conducted on Sauran Street.

Additionally, repair and restoration work is being carried out across the district. This includes the restoration of granite and marble slabs, pavement restoration, painting of metal structures, walls, and benches, installation of curbs, plastering, as well as repair work on pedestrian sidewalks and other urban infrastructure elements.

Daily maintenance and care of the district's green assets are ensured, which include over 220,000 trees, about 500,000 shrubs, 65,000 square meters of flowerbeds, 5 million square meters of lawns, and more than 117,000 linear meters of hedges.

This year, more than 40,000 green plants have been planted throughout the district. Comprehensive planting of greenery has been carried out along several streets in the district: Kerei and Zhanibek Khans, Uly Dala, Kabanbay Batyr, and others.

Work has also been completed in parks and squares, including EXPO Park, KTJ Square, Al-Farabi Mosque, and others.

Comprehensive efforts toward enhancement, greening, sanitation, and urban infrastructure development will continue moving forward. The main goal is to create a comfortable, safe, and modern urban environment for the residents of Yessil District.

It is worth noting that earlier, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to continue systematic work on the development of urban infrastructure, enhancement, and greening of Astana. Improvement efforts are being carried out in all six districts of the capital. In recent years, around 500 public and courtyard spaces have been improved in Astana.
