In the Zhetysu Region, by the end of the year, the wear level of engineering networks will decrease by 15%

In the Zhetysu region, the implementation of the National Project for the modernization of the energy and utility sectors has begun. By the end of this year, it is planned to modernize 568 km of engineering networks, which will allow for a 15% reduction in the average wear level, as reported by the press service of the Akim of the Zhetysu region.

In 2023, 23 projects in the field of electricity, heating, water supply, and wastewater treatment are being implemented in the region. Contractors have been identified, financing has been secured, and construction and installation works are underway.

The most significant projects include the modernization of municipal infrastructure in the cities of Taldykorgan and Tekeli. As a result, the main trunk heating network, stretching 3.5 km in the city of Taldykorgan, will be reconstructed, and 89 km of water supply and wastewater networks in the city of Tekeli will be updated.

The 16 projects in the field of electricity supply include the reconstruction of 474 km of power lines, modernization of two substations, and the implementation of an automated electricity commercial accounting system for 40 thousand consumers.

According to the head of the regional energy and housing and communal services department, Aidos Beketaev, the wear level of the electrical networks of AО "TATEK" will decrease to 67.2%, water supply networks in the city of Tekeli will drop to 62%, and heating networks in the city of Taldykorgan will decrease to 52%.

According to the regional energy and housing and communal services department, 62 projects will be implemented in the region by 2029, which will modernize about 1,500 km of engineering networks and significantly reduce the wear level. In particular, it is planned to modernize 1,155 km of power lines and six substations, 310.1 km of water supply and wastewater networks, and 10.1 km of heating networks. The wear level of electricity supply facilities will decrease from 78.5% to 49.9%, water supply will drop from 33% to 24%, wastewater treatment will decline from 55% to 47%, and heating supply will fall from 61% to 38%.

The implementation of the National Project will ensure the phased modernization of the communal infrastructure of the Zhetysu region and improve the reliability of service delivery to the population.
