A New Park and 35 Improvement Projects to Be Implemented in Nauryzbai District, Almaty

In 2026, Nauryzbai District in Almaty will see the implementation of 35 projects under the 'People's Participation Budget' program. These projects aim to create public spaces and enhance urban infrastructure.

One of the new additions will be a park covering 1 hectare, featuring 200 mature and 85 coniferous trees, approximately 30,000 shrubs, and 1,500 roses. The project includes pedestrian paths, lighting, an automatic irrigation system, a fountain, a 'Family' sculpture, pergolas, and a children's play area.

Additionally, a pedestrian zone along the Tastybulak River will be created, spanning 1.4 km, with pathways, sidewalks, landscaping, and lighting to be installed. The project's completion is scheduled for December.

In 2023, the renovation of 11 courtyards continues in the 'Nurly Dala' residential complex and the Kalkaman neighborhood of Nauryzbai District. Last year, 33 courtyards were improved in the 'Alma City' residential complex. District Akim Nazira Togizbayeva emphasized that the main goal is to create safe and comfortable courtyard spaces for residents and children.

Since 2023, the 'People's Participation Budget' program also facilitated the installation of three pedestrian zones in the Shugyla neighborhood, with a total length of 1.5 km, and a park covering 0.5 hectares in Kalkaman. An amphitheater for cultural events has also been built, alongside the renovation of children's and football playgrounds in the same area.

Parallelly, the greening of the district is ongoing. Since the beginning of 2026, 1,500 trees and over 26,000 shrubs have been planted in the Kalkaman neighborhood. Another 1,000 trees are planned to be planted by the end of the year. Nazira Togizbayeva highlighted that particular focus this year is on increasing green spaces and improving public environments to create a comfortable setting for residents.
