Gasification Completed in Kosshy: Natural Gas Now Accessible to 72,000 Residents
Kosshy completes gasification, providing natural gas to 72,000 residents. A milestone for the Ministry of Energy and 'QazaqGaz'.

The city of Kosshy has completed its gasification project, granting natural gas access to 72,000 residents across all neighborhoods. This milestone is the result of efforts by the Ministry of Energy in collaboration with the national company 'QazaqGaz', as part of the President's directive to expand the gas infrastructure.
Following the commissioning of the second and third phases, residents of the city, as well as those in the 'Lesnaya Polyana' residential area and Diamond Park residential complex, can now connect to this environmentally friendly fuel.
During the final stages of the project, 194 kilometers of gas pipelines and 24 cabinet-type gas control points were put into operation. In total, over 357 kilometers of gas distribution networks have been constructed, along with one block and 44 cabinet-type gas control points.
Currently, 24 settlements in the Akmola region have access to natural gas. Plans are in place to gasify an additional 12 settlements in the Arshalyn and Tselinograd districts by 2027–2028.
Overall, the development of gas transport infrastructure projects in Kazakhstan by 2026 is expected to extend natural gas access to an additional 36,000 residents. In line with the President's targets, the national gasification rate is intended to rise from the current 64.2% to 80% by 2035. The implementation of these large-scale infrastructure projects will expedite regional gasification, improve the quality of life for citizens, and create further conditions for sustainable socio-economic development of the country.
