In Kokshetau, the republican forum "AQMOLA URBAN FORUM: Renovation and Modern Urbanization" was held
The AQMOLA URBAN FORUM in Kokshetau focused on urban modernization and housing renovation, attended by key government officials and industry experts.
In Kokshetau, a republican seminar-meeting "AQMOLA URBAN FORUM: Renovation and Modern Urbanization" took place. The forum was attended by the Vice-Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kuandyk Kazhkenov, representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Construction, heads of related organizations, deputy akims of regions, and industry experts.
The forum was opened by the akim of Akmolinsk Region Marat Akhmetzhanov, who emphasized its significance as a platform for sharing experiences and developing modern approaches to urban environment development.
The akim pointed out that Akmolinsk Region today is one of the leading regions in the country in terms of economic growth, attracting investments, and developing housing construction. He noted that based on last year's results, the region took first place in Kazakhstan for the volume of investments in fixed capital and emphasized that success in modernizing the urban environment is inextricably linked to the pace of economic growth.
The forum showcased the region's achievements in the urban environment development field, including the Kök Shalgyn project, which unites the Zhenis Park, the Glory Alley, the Independence Square, and the embankment of Lake Kopa. There were also discussions about the development of public spaces, modern architectural lighting, and the improvement of parks and embankments in Kokshetau, Shchuchinsk, and other populated areas of the region.
Kuandyk Kazhkenov focused on the renovation of the housing stock and reminded that the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev positively assessed the program for upgrading dilapidated housing in the region, instructing to scale this experience to other regions of the country.
Over the past two years, 23 dilapidated residential buildings have been demolished in the region, and 10 apartment buildings with 763 apartments have been constructed and put into operation. As a result, 248 families received new housing, and 73 owners have been compensated. By the end of the year, it is planned to relocate another 130 families.
The forum also discussed issues of attracting investments, developing industrial zones, and implementing modern urban solutions. Participants were offered a walking tour along the Zhana Zhalayu embankment and the Kök Shalgyn leisure area, as well as a visit to one of the buildings constructed under the renovation program.
Marat Akhmetzhanov concluded that there are new state programs for transforming urban spaces, and the task includes their effective use to create a safe and comfortable environment.
