Construction of Gas Pipeline Begins in Kobda District for Remote Villages Zhirenkopa and Kokuy

Construction of a gas pipeline has commenced in two remote villages, Zhirenkopa and Kokuy, located in the Kobda District of the Aktobe Region. Over the next two years, 14 rural localities are set to be connected to the gas network.

Aktobe Region's Akim, Askhat Shakharov, reviewed the construction commencement during his working visit. The project plans to build approximately 150 kilometers of supply and distribution gas networks. The total project cost is 4 billion tenge, with the majority of the construction and installation work scheduled for completion this year.

According to Arysulan Aitbayev, head of the energy and housing and communal services department, the project holds strategic importance for the district's development. The newly established gas infrastructure will provide the technical feasibility for gasification of an additional 12 localities within the Kobda District: Sogely, Kogaly, Karakemer, Kyzyljar, Akrap, Kanay, Zharyk, Zhamankol, Ortak, Kursay, Utek, and Aksay. In the future, more than three thousand residents will gain access to natural gas.

Currently, the preparatory activities have been completed, and geodetic works along with pipeline installation will commence shortly. The project is expected to be fully completed by 2027.
