Heating Supply Commences in Five Regions of Kazakhstan on the Orders of Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov
Heating supply has started in five regions of Kazakhstan as Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov urges swift preparations for the heating season.

Heating has been initiated in five regions of Kazakhstan, with just a few days remaining before other areas are connected. Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov has instructed regional akims to expedite preparations for the heating season.
During a Government meeting chaired by Olzhas Bektenov, the country's readiness for the upcoming heating season was discussed. Important aspects were covered, including the activation of heating for social facilities such as kindergartens, schools, hospitals, and clinics, as well as the completion of repair work on energy sources and heating networks.
"Only a few days remain until the start of the heating season in some areas. I instruct the akims to accelerate preparations. Begin by supplying heat to social facilities—kindergartens, schools, hospitals, and clinics. The heating season must commence within the specifically set deadlines. Tomorrow is the last day for submitting documents for the issuance of readiness certificates to energy enterprises. Akims need to oversee this issue personally," emphasized the Prime Minister.
Vice Minister of Energy Kairkhan Tutkyshbayev reported that heating has already been supplied to five regions: Pavlodar, Akmola, North Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan, and Kostanay. It is expected that by the end of this week, heating will be activated in the central, western, and eastern regions. Energy sources have stockpiled 4.9 million tons of coal and 127 thousand tons of fuel oil. A total of 17,000 kilometers of power lines have been fully repaired, and work on four substations is nearing completion. The overall readiness of heating networks stands at 99% (374 km out of 377 km). Special attention is being paid to the city of Semey, where the plan is 82% complete. Coordination of these efforts is assigned to the First Deputy Prime Minister Nurlibek Naliyev.

International Energy Forum Powerexpo Almaty 2026 to be Held in Almaty
The XXIV International Energy Forum Powerexpo Almaty 2026 will be held in Almaty on October 21-22, focusing on Kazakhstan's energy infrastructure and modernization.

The XXIV International Energy Forum Powerexpo Almaty 2026 will take place in Almaty on October 21-22, 2026, at the Atakent Exhibition Center. This event is part of one of the largest industry exhibition platforms and will gather representatives from government bodies, energy companies, equipment manufacturers, technology firms, investors, and industry experts.
This year, Powerexpo Almaty will be held jointly with Kazatomexpo. This collaboration will allow for a comprehensive exploration of key areas in modern energy, including both traditional and nuclear generation, electrical and thermal networks, energy engineering, municipal infrastructure, digital technologies, and new energy solutions.
The central theme of the forum is the development of Kazakhstan's energy infrastructure in response to increasing electricity demand, the modernization of existing capacities, the construction of new generation facilities, and the need for proactive network development.
The business program will begin with a plenary session titled "Almaty Energy: 105 Years of Development and New Growth Opportunities." Participants will discuss the prospective energy balance of Almaty and the Almaty energy hub up to 2035, the development of generation, the condition of main and distribution networks, the emergence of new major consumers, and the synchronization of energy infrastructure with the city's development plans.
Special attention will be given to new growth opportunities. The discussion will involve the Ministry of Energy, Almaty Akimat, KEGOC, AJK, "Samruk-Energy," representatives from Alatau City, the Special Economic Zone "Park of Innovative Technologies," and major urban infrastructure. This diverse group of participants will allow for examination of energy supply from the perspectives of both the state and energy companies as well as real consumers.

A separate session will focus on aligning the development timelines for the city, generation, main, and distribution networks. The key task is to identify solutions that need to be implemented by 2030 so that by 2035, energy infrastructure does not limit Almaty's further development.
The forum will also address the modernization of heat sources, CHP plants, and communal infrastructure, the formation of Kazakhstan's prospective energy balance, the development of modern energy technologies, and the energy supply for data centers and artificial intelligence infrastructures.
The exhibition segment of Powerexpo Almaty 2026 will showcase equipment and technologies for power and public utilities: solutions for generation and network complexes, metering devices, turbine equipment and components, cable and conductive products, insulators, and systems for automation, digitalization, and energy resource management.
Powerexpo Almaty 2026 will serve as a platform for professional discussions on what Kazakhstan's next stage of energy development should look like: from generation and networks to the end consumer. The forum will bring together strategic dialogue, practical solutions, new technologies, and direct interaction between the state, energy business, equipment manufacturers, and investors.
