New Schools, Sports Complexes, and Urban Improvements Underway in Karatal District, Zhetysu

A series of significant social projects are being implemented in the Karatal District of Zhetysu, including the construction and modernization of educational, sports, transportation, and urban improvement facilities. The regional governor, Beibit Isabayev, visited the district to inspect the progress of these projects, as reported by the press service of the Zhetysu regional governor's office.

In the town of Ushtobe, the administrative center of the district, two major sports facilities are under construction. A physical fitness and health complex is being built near the central stadium, covering a total area of 3,300 square meters and consisting of two blocks. The complex will be equipped to modern standards and will host basketball, volleyball, badminton, handball, and tennis sections, as well as wellness activities, training sessions, and competitions of various levels. Additionally, dedicated spaces for boxing and wrestling will be provided to promote mass sports and a healthy lifestyle for all age groups.

According to Batima Nurkenova, a representative of the contracting organization, 33 people are currently employed on the construction site, with all necessary equipment and materials available. The project is scheduled to be completed by March next year, though the contractor aims to finish by the end of this year.

A judo center is also being built in the district, with major construction work completed and finishing works underway. The facility includes two halls for children of different age groups and a gym.

The regional governor also inspected the construction of a new 600-seat school in Ushtobe. Construction started in June and is expected to finish by August next year. Isabayev emphasized the importance of high-quality construction work on these social projects.

"The construction of schools, clinics, and sports complexes are priority projects that require special attention. They are necessary for our population, and the quality and timeliness of their completion must be strictly adhered to," noted Beibit Isabayev.

Additionally, the regional leader reviewed the renovation of the Ushtobe train station, which is 76% complete. Seismic reinforcement, platform modernization, and external engineering network connections have been finished. Interior finishing works and facade updating are in progress. Approximately 70 people are working on the station's renovation in two shifts to complete it this month.

Concluding the visit, the governor visited the central park in Ushtobe, where urban improvement efforts are underway as part of the national "Clean Kazakhstan" campaign. On the six-hectare park grounds, plans include an amphitheater, play and sports areas, relaxation zones, an ethnic village, small architectural forms, and an automatic irrigation system. The park is scheduled to open by the end of September.

Since the beginning of the year, 1,200 trees have been planted in the park, including 750 pines and 150 birches.
