29 Projects Under 'Participatory Budgeting' Program in Almaty's Auezov District

Projects under the 'Participatory Budgeting' program continue to make headway in the Auezov District of Almaty, giving residents a direct role in developing their courtyards and public spaces. This year, 29 projects are being implemented in the district.

For instance, a modern public space for family recreation and sports has been created at the intersection of Zhandosov and Daulenov streets. As part of the landscaping efforts, small architectural forms and outdoor lighting poles have been installed, along with contemporary children's playgrounds, sports and workout zones, and an updated surface covering.

"The children really enjoy the playground, and I can work out without worry while they play. It's truly a modern and convenient place for the whole family to relax," noted area resident Gabita Tursynbayeva in a statement.

Another project has been completed in the Tastak-1 microdistrict, where comprehensive improvement of the courtyards of houses No. 24 and 26 has been finished. The work has resulted in new play zones featuring modern complexes, swings, carousels, balance beams, trampolines, and other play elements suitable for children of various ages. Gazebos have been installed for residents to relax, and there are sports and workout areas. Additionally, the territory's surface has been updated and modern outdoor lighting installed, enhancing the courtyards' comfort and safety.

Today, the improved area has become a complete space for residents' daily leisure.

"Our yard has become unrecognizable. Now it's a pleasant place to spend time with family: the kids play on the new playgrounds, we relax with neighbors in the evenings, and I often take walks with my grandchildren. I'm thrilled that a cozy and modern space has opened up right next to home," shared area resident Umit Ospanova.

The beautification efforts in Auezov District continue. The implementation of projects under the 'Participatory Budgeting' program allows for resident initiatives to be taken into account, creating modern, safe, and comfortable spaces for relaxation, sports, and leisure.
