A Forum on Urbanism Took Place in Astana

A republican seminar-meeting on urbanism development and the creation of Urbanism Centers in the regions was held in Astana. The event was attended by the Vice Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kuandyk Kazhkenov.

"Urbanism and the development of the urban environment are an integral part of the implementation of the ecological program 'Taza Kazakhstan'. Today, we face the task of systematically improving the quality of the urban environment, forming a modern architectural appearance of settlements, and implementing unified standards for landscaping. Conducting such seminars allows us to strengthen cooperation with the regions and ensure the effective implementation of the set tasks," Kuandyk Kazhkenov noted in a statement.

During the forum, new approaches provided for by the Construction Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the development of design codes for the regions, issues concerning the architectural appearance of settlements, as well as the implementation of modern mechanisms for landscaping and comprehensive territorial development were discussed.

Participants were presented with the capital's experience in the field of urbanism, implemented public space projects, and promising directions for further development of the urban environment. Reports were given by representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Astana city administration, JSC 'KazCenterZhkkh', the State Urban Planning Cadastre RGP, the Urbanism Center of Astana, as well as international experts.

As a result of the meeting, participants exchanged experiences and discussed further cooperation on urbanism development in the regions of the country, as reported by zhkh24 citing the website of the Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
