New Sports and Leisure Space Opens in Astana

In the Sarayshyq district of Astana, a new public space has been inaugurated, offering residents opportunities for sports and relaxation. This area features a football field, a workout zone, and recreational spots, as reported by the official website of the capital's akimat.

As part of the development, 900 square meters of paving stones have been laid, and three shaded canopies, benches, waste bins, and 19 light fixtures—15 park lamps and 4 street lights—have been installed. The football field and workout zone are equipped with benches and bins. Landscaping efforts are ongoing, with a total of 200 trees planned for planting, of which 60 have already been planted.

The inauguration of the new space was marked by a football tournament for teenagers aged 13–15. A concert and entertainment program with animators was also organized for residents.

The event was part of a preventive initiative aimed at combating drug addiction among teenagers and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Volunteers from the Anti-Drug Crime Department and employees of the Sarayshyq District Emergency Situations Department conducted educational activities for the participants.

Special attention was given to children's safety. Parents were reminded of fire safety rules and the necessity of not leaving children unattended, as well as not placing furniture near windows.

According to representatives from the Sarayshyq district akimat, three public spaces have opened in the district this year.

The event also featured the robotic dog Temirtos and the character Tärtıpbek, who have become symbolic figures for the "Taza Kazakhstan" and "Law and Order" initiatives. The new space has become another venue where district residents can engage in sports, relax, and spend time together.

As a reminder, the Astana city akimat plans to improve 173 courtyards and public spaces (parks, squares, boulevards) this year, reports Housing and Public Utilities 24, citing the Astana City Akimat website.
