Nearly 5 Million Flowers and Rose Bushes Planted in Almaty During Summer Season

In the summer season of 2026, the area covered by floral arrangements in Almaty exceeded 410,000 square meters, marking a 77% increase over last year's figures. The number of annual flowers rose from 2.7 million to 4.3 million, while the number of roses burgeoned from 125,000 to 580,000. This information was reported by LLP "Eco Almaty."

Some of the largest floral zones were established along the Esentai River embankment (20,000 square meters), along Sairan Reservoir (15,000 square meters), and near Halyk Arena (over 7,000 square meters).

A new initiative involved the use of vertical constructs made from live plants in the shapes of an apple, a bear, a snow leopard, and a peacock. These compositions became vibrant focal points in the urban space and received positive feedback from residents. Notably, a 2.5-meter-tall peacock floral composition spanning 30 meters was installed on the Esentai embankment.

When selecting plants, Almaty's climatic conditions, plant durability, and flowering duration were taken into consideration. During the active care period, more than 400 specialists and over 140 pieces of equipment were employed daily.

With the onset of autumn, a scheduled cleanup of seasonal flower plantings is conducted, and preparations for next season's greening of urban areas are underway.
