Astana Hosts Major Environmental Campaign for Republic Day

On October 24, Astana became the scene of a large-scale environmental campaign as part of the "Taza Kazakhstan" initiative, celebrating Republic Day.

Participants included utility service employees, members of communal and domestic communities, shared interest organizations (SIOs), entrepreneurs, volunteers, and city residents. More than 7,000 individuals took part, supported by around 240 pieces of special equipment.

As part of the city greening efforts, approximately 370 trees were planted, including apple, elm, and birch trees. Participants also carried out sanitary cleanups and enhanced public spaces.

Collective efforts led to the tidying of 180 courtyards, the cleaning of 25 parks and squares, and the areas around 15 cultural monuments. The work also extended to areas adjacent to business facilities, dining establishments, and other organizations.

It is worth noting that over 120 cultural, social, sports, educational, and patriotic events are being held in Astana for Republic Day.

A new public space for residents to enjoy walks and relaxation has been established on Akyn Sara Street in the Shanyrak-1 microdistrict of Almaty.

This project is part of the 'People's Participation Budget' program, which allows citizens to propose their own initiatives to enhance their neighborhoods.

The park features pedestrian pathways, benches for rest, lighting fixtures, and a newly laid lawn. This offers the neighborhood's residents another pleasant place to stroll, spend time with family, or simply relax outdoors.

A reminder that applications for the 'People's Participation Budget' program are open until November 1. Residents can propose their own projects for improving courtyards and public spaces, contributing to the development of their communities.
