Astana Launches Bottle and Can Recycling Machines for 'Taza Kazakhstan' Project
Astana launches 'Sparklo' recycling machines for bottles and cans as part of 'Taza Kazakhstan' initiative, promoting environmental responsibility among residents.

Astana has introduced a network of 'Sparklo' machines designed for collecting plastic bottles and aluminum cans for recycling, as part of the 'Taza Kazakhstan' initiative, reports the official website of the capital’s Akimat.
The project is part of the 'Taza Kazakhstan' ecological culture development concept, in collaboration with 'Zero Waste' company, supported by Kazakhstan's Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and JSC 'Zhasyl Damu'.
The event showcased the operation of these recycling machines, the automated system for receiving recyclable materials, as well as methods to engage the public in waste separation.
"It's gratifying that our project is in demand. In Astana alone, we've collected over 2 million bottles and cans. Nationwide, the volume of items directed to recycling has exceeded 5 million. A unique feature of the program is the reward system for the public. Users earn points for submitting recyclables, which can be exchanged for rewards in the mobile app or bonuses from partners," stated Tatyana Ashrafzyanova, General Director of 'Sparklo Kazakhstan'.

According to her, children are also interested in the project. Parents come to the machines with their children, practically teaching them the importance of sorting waste in daily life. This, in turn, promotes the development of environmental responsibility from an early age.
To date, 53 machines have been installed across Kazakhstan. The number of participants in the project has exceeded 100,000 people. In Astana, the network of machines is also being expanded gradually.
The main goal of the project is to return waste into economic circulation, efficiently use recyclable materials, develop the infrastructure for waste separation, and create a sustainable recycling system. Experts believe that such initiatives not only reduce waste volumes but also increase residents' environmental responsibility. By depositing plastic bottles and aluminum cans into these devices, every person can contribute to environmental protection.
