Traffic Restrictions Announced in Medeu District of Almaty Due to Emergency Power Line Repairs
Traffic will be restricted in Medeu District of Almaty from October 31 to November 7 due to emergency repairs on a power line.

From October 31 to November 7, traffic in the Medeu District of Almaty will be temporarily restricted due to emergency repair work on the 220 kV cable line No. 2353.
The restrictions will affect the section from Ular Street to the intersection with Ladushkin Street. The repair work will take place near building No. 125 on Ladushkin Street, where the damaged cable lies beneath the roadway.
According to Alatau Zharyk Company, this line is part of Almaty's ring power supply network, connecting the Ermensay and Besagash substations. The cable damage forces the network to operate temporarily in an open-loop configuration, which increases the load on other elements of the power system.

To fix the issue, specialists will need to open the road surface and the concrete channel to access the damaged section, conduct repairs, and perform necessary tests before the line is reactivated.
The emergency repair work will be conducted round-the-clock. Once completed, the road surface will be fully restored.
Alatau Zharyk Company urges drivers to consider these temporary restrictions when planning their routes. The repairs are essential to restore the standard power supply configuration for the city and Almaty agglomeration.
