Hundreds of Illegal Graffiti and Drug Advertisements Removed in Astana
Astana's 'Anti-Vandal' campaign successfully removes over 360 illegal graffiti and drug ads, restoring public spaces with volunteer efforts.

Astana recently hosted the 'Anti-Vandal' campaign aimed at removing illegal graffiti and maintaining order in public spaces. As part of the 'Law and Order' strategy, over 360 inscriptions advertising drugs and unauthorized graffiti have been painted over in the city, according to the official website of the Astana city administration.
The campaign took place at a children's playground in the residential complex 'Zhagalau-3'. Volunteers and students from the Construction Technical College participated. They not only restored the playground but also painted over inscriptions and drawings on the walls.
Aslanbek Bapaev, a specialist in the Youth Resource Center 'Astana Zhastary', noted that since the inception of the 'Anti-Vandal' movement, more than 40 events have been conducted in this direction.
"Within the movement, more than 360 advertisements for drugs and illegal graffiti have been found and eradicated through painting over. Volunteers also conduct raids twice a week to identify signs of vandalism in the city. The work on removing illegal inscriptions and restoring public spaces is carried out jointly with district administrations. For instance, this week in the Saryarka district, two activities were conducted. In these activities, 'Astana Zhastary' volunteers and students from the Kazpotrebsoyuz College participated. Today, in collaboration with the Nura district administration and students from the Construction Technical College, we restored a children's playground," said Aslanbek Bapaev.
