Plans for Further Greening of Almaty Discussed
Almaty discusses the greening campaign outcomes and plans for autumn planting under Akim Darkhan Satybaldy.

A meeting was held in Almaty to review the outcomes of the spring greening campaign and prepare for the autumn planting, under the chairmanship of the city's akim, Darkhan Satybaldy.
According to the Department of Ecology, 6,500 mature trees and 500,000 shrubs were planted this spring across 55 locations in all districts of Almaty. The work was carried out along riverbanks, boulevards, and other public spaces in Almaty.
During the meeting, the outcomes of a study visit by specialists to Hangzhou, China were presented. This visit was aimed at learning advanced practices in greening and sourcing planting materials. As a result of this trip, agreements were reached with Chinese nurseries for direct supplies of plants selected according to Almaty's climatic conditions.
Specifically, Zhejiang Jiande Shengyan Agricultural Technology Development Co., Ltd., a company with many years of experience in cultivating ornamental plants, expressed its willingness to assist Almaty in selecting planting materials and implementing modern greening approaches. Preliminary selections of tree, shrub, and perennial plant species have been made to test their adaptation to Almaty's climate and urban conditions.
As part of the autumn greening campaign, approximately 2,000 trees and 350,000 shrubs are planned to be planted across 37 sites in all districts of Almaty. Akim Darkhan Satybaldy instructed that strict quality control of planting materials be ensured and that special attention be paid to selecting plants based on their resilience to climatic and urban conditions. It was noted that greening efforts should focus on steadily establishing a sustainable green framework for Almaty.
