In Aktobe Region, the level of gas supply to the population is planned to reach 99.6% in three years.

At a meeting chaired by the akim of the region, the issue of developing the gas industry in the region was discussed. Special attention was paid to the implementation of gasification projects, the technical condition of the gas distribution infrastructure, the quality of services provided, and further plans for supplying natural gas to populated areas.

According to the head of the Department of Energy and Housing and Communal Services, Arysulan Aitbayev, out of 319 populated areas in the region, 208 are provided with natural gas, where nearly 903 thousand people live. By the end of 2025, 23 gasification projects with a total cost of 12.2 billion tenge will have been implemented in the region. Thanks to the work done, residents of 31 villages have gained access to blue fuel. This year, it is planned to gasify another 8 villages in the Aitekebi, Martuk, and Uil districts. This will provide natural gas to 3.7 thousand residents. As of today, work has already been completed on connecting five populated areas to gas, where 2,126 people live.

For further development of the gas supply in the region, a budget request of 5.5 billion tenge has been submitted to the republican budget commission. The funds are planned to be directed towards the implementation of 8 new projects. If these projects are fully funded, the level of gasification in the region will significantly increase: 225 populated areas, or 70.5% of the total number, will be provided with natural gas, covering approximately 910.2 thousand people, or 98% of the region’s population.

In addition, the preparation of new projects is ongoing. Currently, 5 project cost estimates have been developed, and documentation is being prepared for 2 more projects. From 2027 to 2029, it is planned to prepare 15 more projects for gasification of 40 villages with a population of 12.4 thousand people.

The implementation of all planned activities will provide gas supply to 274 populated areas, which will account for 85.9% of their total number, and the coverage of the population with natural gas will reach 99.6% or 929.9 thousand people.

During the discussion, issues regarding the state of gas distribution networks, the efficiency of tariff fund usage, the quality of consumer service, and the timelines for connecting residents to gas were also raised. The regional head instructed to ensure constant monitoring of the implementation of gasification projects and their timely completion, as well as to conduct an analysis of the technical condition of gas distribution networks, phased modernization of the worn-out infrastructure, and reinforce measures to ensure industrial and household safety in the operation of gas equipment.
