Preparations for the Heating Season Continue in Akmola Region

Preparations for the heating season are actively underway in Akmola Region. The key topic of a field meeting held in Stepnogorsk, presided over by the First Deputy Akim of Akmola Region, Yeldos Ramazanov, was the readiness for the heating season. The choice of the city as a discussion platform was deliberate, as Stepnogorsk is a strategic link in ensuring the region's energy security.

During the working trip, participants examined the state of heating infrastructure and progress in preparing the city's systems for the upcoming autumn-winter period. Special attention was given to repairing heating networks, updating boiler equipment, and ensuring reliable energy supply.

A large-scale reconstruction of Stepnogorsk's heating networks is ongoing. From the planned 8.5 km for the first phase, 7.4 km, or 87%, have already been repaired. The work is expected to be completed by mid-September. Simultaneously, the main heating network is under repair, with half of the planned work for the year already completed.

The update of the Stepnogorsk Combined Heat and Power Plant (CHP) is also ongoing. Repairs are being made to boilers, turbines, chimneys, and ash pipelines. One boiler and one turbine have been repaired, and two chimneys have been restored. Additionally, a 7.5 km heat pipeline has been fully laid.

The working trip also included visits to modular block boilers in the town of Akkol. The progress of work and equipment readiness for the upcoming heating season were checked on-site. Construction of two block-modular boilers is underway in the town—on Abay Street and Central. The first is 90% ready, and the second is 40% ready, with completion planned for September.

Overall, the region's preparation for winter involves multiple directions. This year, the reconstruction of 38.2 km of heating networks is planned, with 27.6 km, or 70%, already completed. Boiler replacement is also ongoing, with 20 out of the planned 26 already installed.

A significant amount of work is being undertaken in Shchuchinsk, where heating networks of several boiler houses are being reconstructed. Specifically, 5 out of the 6 km of the network for Boiler House No. 20 have been repaired. The work is expected to be completed by September.

In Kokshetau, the reconstruction of heating networks on Saina and Potanina streets is nearing completion. Meanwhile, repairs to equipment at district boiler houses continue. An electrofilter is being replaced at Boiler House No. 9 RK-2.

In Atbasar, the reconstruction of heating networks is wrapping up, alongside the central boiler house's reconstruction. In Sandyktau District, the construction of a modular block boiler house in Balkashino is nearing completion at 80%, with plans to finish before the heating season begins.

Active work is also being conducted in Makinsk, where eight boilers are being replaced at a modular block boiler house. New equipment is being installed in Zhaksy, Zharkain, Egindykol, Yesil, and Shortandy districts. In Kosshy, modernization of boiler equipment is ongoing, increasing capacity, and in Shantobe settlement, heating network repairs are in progress.

An important part of the preparations is ensuring the readiness of social facilities and residential buildings. Currently, all 517 healthcare facilities and 376 out of 406 educational facilities are ready for the heating season. 87% of multi-apartment residential buildings in the region have been prepared.

Efforts to stockpile fuel for municipal boiler houses are ongoing. Contracts for coal supply and accumulation are being arranged in the districts and cities of the region. At the same time, the issue of supplying energy sources with the necessary volume of fuel oil is being addressed.

A key direction is preparing electrical networks. Energy transmission companies continue to repair networks and substations, with expectations of further wear reduction by the end of the repair campaign.

In the coming weeks, the focus will be on completing repair work, conducting system flushing and pressure tests, accumulating standard fuel reserves, and obtaining readiness certificates. All activities are under strict control and must be completed within the designated timeframe.
