Akmola Region Prepares for Heating Season

Preparations are underway for the heating season in the Akmola region, as discussed at a field meeting in Stepnogorsk chaired by Eldos Ramazanov, First Deputy Akim of Akmola Region. Stepnogorsk was chosen as the meeting site due to its strategic role in ensuring the region's energy security.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the state of the heating supply facilities and the progress of the city's infrastructure preparation for the autumn-winter period. Particular attention was given to the repair of heating networks, the upgrading of boiler equipment, and ensuring energy supply reliability.

A major reconstruction of heating networks continues in Stepnogorsk. Of the planned 8.5 km in the first phase, 7.4 km, or 87%, has been repaired. The work is expected to be completed by mid-September. Simultaneously, the repair of the main heating network is underway, with half of the planned work completed so far.

The upgrade of the Stepnogorsk Combined Heat and Power Plant is also ongoing. Current work involves repairing boilers, turbines, chimneys, and ash pipelines. Repairs on one boiler and one turbine are complete, and two chimneys have been restored. A 7.5 km heating network has been fully installed.

During the trip, the modular boiler houses in Akkol were also inspected. The checks involved both the progress of the work and the readiness of the equipment for the heating season. Two modular boiler installations are under construction in the city—one on Abay Street and the other at "Central." The first is 90% ready, while the second is at 40%, with completion expected in September.

Across the region, preparations for winter are progressing along several fronts. This year, the reconstruction of 38.2 km of heating networks is planned, with 27.6 km already completed, representing 70%. Boiler replacements are also underway: of the 26 planned, 20 have been installed so far.

In Shchuchinsk, work is being done on the reconstruction of heating networks at boiler houses. Specifically, 5 out of 6 km of the heating network at Boiler House No. 20 have been repaired, with completion expected in September. In Kokshetau, reconstruction of heating networks on Saina and Potanina streets is nearing completion, alongside the repair of district boiler house equipment.

In Atbasar, the modernization of heating networks and the central boiler house is underway, while in the Sandyktau district, the construction of a modular boiler house in Balkashino is 80% complete. In Makinsk, eight boilers are being replaced at a modular boiler house, and in Kosshy, the modernization of boiler equipment continues.

Preparation of social infrastructure and residential properties is also a priority. For the heating season, 517 healthcare facilities and 376 out of 406 educational institutions are ready, and 87% of apartment buildings in the region have been prepared.

Efforts to build up fuel reserves for municipal boilers are ongoing. Agreements for coal supply and accumulation are being concluded in districts and cities throughout the region, and securing an adequate supply of fuel oil for energy sources is also being addressed.

An important focus remains the preparation of electrical networks. Energy transmission companies continue to repair networks and substations to reduce wear further.

In the coming weeks, the main focus will be on completing repairs, flushing and pressure testing of heating systems, accumulating normative fuel reserves, and obtaining readiness certificates. All activities are monitored and must be completed within the specified deadlines.
