The solemn event in honor of Housing and Utilities Workers' Day took place at the Ministry of Industry and Construction

A solemn event dedicated to Housing and Utilities Workers' Day was held at the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ersaiyn Nagaspaev, gave a welcoming speech.

During his speech, the minister congratulated the workers of the housing and utilities sector on their professional holiday and noted that the housing and utilities sector is an integral part of the daily life of every citizen of the country and plays a key role in providing comfortable living conditions.

"It is precisely thanks to your labor that water, light, and heat come into our homes, yards and streets are improved, and order and comfort are maintained. Working in this sector requires not only knowledge and experience but also endurance, discipline, punctuality, and true dedication to your work," emphasized Ersaiyn Nagaspaev, as stated in the message.

The minister also outlined priority areas for the development of the industry. Thus, as part of the instructions from the Head of State, a National Project on the modernization of the energy and utilities sectors is being implemented in the country, aimed at improving the quality, reliability, and accessibility of utility services. Under the Ministry's plans, the modernization of about 8,000 km of water supply and wastewater networks is foreseen, as well as the implementation of 45 sewage treatment projects.

At the same time, since 2023, about 2,500 apartment buildings have already been repaired in the country, amounting to over 100 billion tenge. Capital repairs of another 650 buildings are planned to be carried out in 2026.

As a result of the measures being implemented, it is expected that by 2030, the wear and tear of water supply networks will decrease to 33%, and wastewater networks will decrease to 41%.

During the event, a ceremony also took place to award workers of the sector for their contributions to the development of the housing and utilities sector. The event was attended by representatives of government agencies, industry veterans, employees of utility companies, and relevant specialists from all regions of the country.
