‘Clean Kazakhstan’: 121 thousand seedlings will be planted in Zhetysu by the end of the year

The Zhetysu region is actively implementing the national ecological program ‘Clean Kazakhstan’. By the end of the year, 121 thousand seedlings will be planted in the region as part of the program, - reports the press service of the akimat of Zhetysu region.

Overall, since the beginning of 2026, 167 events have been held in the region as part of environmental protection and the formation of ecological culture, with the participation of 86 thousand people. As a result, 58 thousand seedlings were planted, and 5 thousand tons of waste were removed.

In addition, funds have been allocated this year for the improvement of territories. 20 public spaces will be improved, including 41 courtyards, 16 parks, 3 alleys, 1 square, 1 central square, and 41 children’s and sports playgrounds. Repairs are also planned for 96 roofs and 86 facades of apartment buildings, the construction of 15.1 km of drainage networks, and the installation of street lighting covering 304 km.

It is also worth noting that plans for environmental education have been developed in the educational institutions of the region for 2024-2026, and a standard provision for ‘Green Club’ teams has been approved. In schools, there are 339 ecological circles, 310 ‘green corners,’ 114 garden plots, and a greenhouse.

As a reminder, last year, under the ‘Clean Kazakhstan’ program, 13 parks, 6 alleys, 2 squares, 2 central squares, 49 courtyards, and 81 children’s and sports playgrounds were improved in the Zhetysu region. Additionally, 77 roofs and 33 facades of multi-story residential buildings were repaired, work was carried out to restore 16.5 km of drainage networks and 72 monuments, and 315 km of street lighting was installed.
