Growth in Kazakhstan's Construction Sector and Implementation of New Quality Standards

Kazakhstan's construction sector is showing steady growth and the implementation of new quality standards, as reported by the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In the first half of the year, the volume of construction work in the country reached 4.1 trillion tenge, which is 15.2% more compared to the same period last year. It is forecasted that by 2025, this figure will reach 10.7 trillion tenge, marking an increase of 17.5% compared to 2024. This trend is driven by large-scale infrastructure projects, active development of housing construction, and the growth of investment activity.

A significant milestone in the further development of the industry is the enactment of the Construction Code of Kazakhstan, developed under the instructions of the Head of State. The document aims to enhance the quality and safety of construction through the introduction of digital control mechanisms and the improvement of state architectural and construction supervision. The new regulations plan for extended warranty periods for project operations, mandatory consideration of seismic risks in design, digital oversight of construction organizations, rapid response to violations, and other measures.

There is also consistent development in the domestic production of construction materials. Kazakhstani manufacturers hold over 70% of the domestic market share, with more than 3000 enterprises meeting market demands. This year, it is planned to implement 48 investment projects totaling 202.2 billion tenge, which will create over 3500 new jobs.

Moreover, the sector’s human resources are actively developing. The construction industry employs over 380,000 specialists. Thanks to the professionalism of builders, architects, designers, engineers, and other specialists, large-scale projects are forming the modern image of Kazakhstan and laying the foundation for the country's further economic growth.
