Complete Overhaul of Boilers and Turbine at Petropavlovsk Power Plant-2 Concluded

Petropavlovsk Power Plant-2 has successfully finished the major overhaul of four boilers and one turbine. This achievement is part of the summer maintenance campaign aimed at ensuring reliable heating and electricity supply for the city.

The Ministry of Energy continues to give special attention to the heating season, timely maintenance, and systematic modernization of the energy infrastructure. This year, the overhaul of 9 energy blocks, 55 boilers, and 51 turbines is planned for power plants across the country.

At Petropavlovsk Power Plant-2, operated by SEVKAZENERGO JSC, a key phase of work has been completed. In the near future, the major overhaul of one more boiler is slated for completion. Currently, 10 boilers and 7 turbines are in operation. This will ensure stable production of thermal and electric energy under the low temperatures characteristic of the northern regions of the country. Concurrently, routine maintenance works that do not affect current energy supply to consumers are ongoing at the station.

The modernization of equipment at Power Plant-2 will continue in the coming years. In 2028, the reconstruction of Boiler No. 4 is planned to begin. During this period, Boiler No. 2 will be put into operation with an increased production capacity from 220 to 240 tons of steam per hour. From 2029 onwards, reconstruction of Turbine No. 3 is scheduled.

An important focus of the station's modernization remains the upgrade of smokestacks. In 2024, the construction of a new Smokestack No. 1 was completed, which is now operational and meets the necessary technological demands. Currently, the reconstruction of Smokestack No. 3 is underway, with its interim commissioning planned for the 2026–2027 heating season.
