Winter Readiness: 74 km of Heating Networks Undergoing Repairs in Abay and East Kazakhstan Regions

During a working trip to the Abay and East Kazakhstan regions, Deputy Chairman of the State Energy Supervision and Control Committee of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ernaz Khasenov visited thermal and power energy facilities to assess preparations for the 2026–2027 heating season and review the progress of ongoing repairs.

In Abay region, the deputy chairman visited facilities of the public utility 'Teplokommunenergo' in Semey, including CHPP-1, thermal sources, and networks, as well as 'Shulbinskaya HPP' LLP.

'At Teplokommunenergo,' an expanded routine maintenance of 13 boilers is planned, with four already completed. Repairs of 34.6 km of heating networks are also planned, and thus far, 12.7 km have been completed. It is anticipated that the wear and tear will decrease from 55.6% to 52.3%.

At Shulbinskaya HPP, heavy repairs are underway on hydroelectric unit No. 1 and routine maintenance on power transformer T-3 and auxiliary transformer ATS-2 with a capacity of 250 MVA. The plant's management reported adherence to repair schedules and availability of the necessary resources, with completion of works expected on time.

In East Kazakhstan region, the deputy chairman inspected sites such as Ust-Kamenogorsk CHPP LLP, Ridder CHPP LLP, Sogrinskaya CHPP LLP, and Boiler House No. 2 of 'Shygys Zhyly' JSC to monitor heating season preparations.

In Ust-Kamenogorsk CHPP, major repairs continue on boiler unit No. 10 and turbine unit No. 10, while major repairs on turbine unit No. 6 are finished. Preparations are underway for major repairs on boiler unit No. 14 and turbine unit No. 8.

At Ridder CHPP, major repairs are ongoing on boiler units No. 5, No. 6, and turbine unit No. 1. At Sogrinskaya CHPP, major repairs on turbine unit No. 1 are 83% complete. In Boiler House No. 2 of 'Shygys Zhyly' JSC, major repairs on boiler units No. 1 and No. 4 are ongoing.

During the visit, the modernization of the heating networks in East Kazakhstan region was discussed. In 2026, capital repairs and reconstruction of 40 km of networks are planned as part of the National Project 'Modernization of the Energy and Public Utilities Sectors.' To date, 13.5 km of networks have been repaired.

Following the site visits, the deputy chairman instructed strict adherence to repair schedules, enhanced quality control of works, and the implementation of all necessary measures to ensure timely and efficient preparation of facilities for the 2026–2027 heating season in Abay and East Kazakhstan regions, reports ЖКХ24 with reference to the Ministry of Energy website.
