New Gas-Fired Power Plant in Kyzylorda Generates Approximately 500 Million kWh of Electricity
Kyzylorda's new gas-fired power plant generates 500 million kWh, supporting energy needs for 130,000 apartments annually.

The new gas-fired power plant in Kyzylorda has generated approximately 500 million kWh of electricity since its launch. This milestone marks the increasing contribution of the 240 MW combined-cycle plant to Kazakhstan's Unified Power System, ensuring reliable energy supply to consumers.
This amount of electricity is sufficient to power 130,000 apartments for a year or meet the needs of a city with a population of over 400,000 people.
In the current year, Kazakhstan anticipates the commissioning of 2.6 GW of new capacity, including four gas-fired stations and the expansion of two existing power plants. Additionally, the launch of 10 new renewable energy facilities is planned.
The implementation of these projects is expected to solve the country's energy shortage by the first quarter of 2027, and by 2029, ensure a stable surplus of electricity, the statement said.
