Ministry of Energy Oversees MAEC's Preparations for Upcoming Heating Season in Aktau

Aktau, July 20, 2026 - The MAEC facilities are undergoing a maintenance campaign ahead of the fall-winter period. The primary focus is on adhering to maintenance schedules and enhancing the reliability of the energy infrastructure in the Mangystau region.

Energy Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Akkengzhenov, personally inspected the company's readiness for the upcoming heating season during a working visit to the region.

Currently, repair work is ongoing at MAEC's thermal power station on Unit No. 1. The company's specialists are implementing a series of measures to increase the equipment's reliability. The completion of major works is planned by the end of July.

Additionally, the main equipment at MAEC facilities is under maintenance. Adjustments to the work schedules for specific units have been made, considering the need for additional technical measures. The Minister of Energy has ordered that the repair work be completed within the set deadlines.

"A key issue right now is completing the maintenance campaign on time. Any deviations from the equipment preparation schedules for the fall-winter period are unacceptable. All necessary decisions must be made promptly, and the work is under constant supervision by the Ministry and Akimat," stated Energy Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Akkengzhenov.

To improve the reliability of power supply, the project for replacing the autotransformer AT-1 at the thermal power station continues. The new equipment is expected in August 2026, with installation works scheduled to begin in September.

Special attention is being given to ensuring the stable operation of the MAEC cooling system. Work continues on restoring the capacity of the supply channels that provide technical water to the energy facilities. These activities are also monitored by the Ministry of Energy, the company, and regional authorities.
