Over 24,000 Residents of Tselinograd District Gain Access to Natural Gas

In the Tselinograd District of Akmola Region, the gasification of the villages of Karazhar and Karaotkel has been completed. With the construction of approximately 240 km of gas distribution networks, natural gas has become available to more than 24,000 residents.

Karazhar is now the seventh, and Karaotkel the eighth, fully gasified locality in the Tselinograd District. The projects were executed simultaneously due to the two villages being located on the same main gas pipeline. The work was finished ahead of schedule; the initial plan was to supply gas only by 2028.

Akim of Akmola Region Marat Akhmetzhanov congratulated the residents of Karazhar on this significant occasion.

"As per the head of state's directive, we are taking a key step in developing the settlements around the capital by initiating the gas supply system. Gasification is not only about communal infrastructure; it primarily enhances environmental conditions and improves residents' quality of life. Socially vulnerable groups are eligible for a gas consumption discount of up to 20%, along with a one-time assistance of up to 70 MRP for household connection," stated Marat Akhmetzhanov.

In Karazhar, about 53 km of gas networks have been built, allowing 1,700 subscribers to connect. Among the first to connect was the Ermakhanov family.

"For our family, getting gas is a major event, just as it is for all the villagers. Our home is now much more convenient, cleaner, and comfortable. There's no need to constantly monitor the stove or worry about coal supplies anymore. We are very grateful to everyone involved in this project's realization," shared Zhanat Ermakhanova.

In Karaotkel, the first two launching complexes were put into operation in December last year, with three more completed in the current year. In total, about 185 km of gas networks have been constructed here. With over 4,000 households, approximately 1,500 subscribers are already connected to the gas supply system.

Efforts to provide the district's residents with natural gas continue. This year, a similar project is being implemented in the village of Kyzylsuat, where upon completion, around 3,000 residents will gain access to gas.

Moreover, project documentation is being developed for the gasification of the villages of Akmol, Kabanbai Batyr, Utemis, Kyzylzhar, Nuresil, and Kazhymukan. The implementation of these projects is slated for 2027, with a total reach of over 30,000 residents.

In general, around 220,000 people, or 28% of the population, in the Akmola region now have access to natural gas. Expanding the gas infrastructure remains a priority for the development of the region's communal services, especially for localities near the capital.
