11 Courtyards Revamped in Sarayshyk District as Part of 'Budget of Public Participation' Initiative

The Sarayshyk district of the capital is undergoing extensive development as part of efforts to enhance the local environment. This includes upgrading streets and courtyards, creating new public spaces, pedestrian and bicycle paths, sports facilities, and green areas, reports the official website of the Astana Akimat.

One of the major undertakings in the district is the refurbishment along R. Koshkarbayev Avenue, stretching from K. Amanzholov Street to S. Nurmagambetov Street, as well as S. Nurmagambetov Street itself. The total improved area spans 35,000 square meters.

The project features the installation of 17,000 square meters of paving stones and 4,000 square meters of asphalt. Additionally, 100 outdoor lighting poles and 40 sets comprising benches and trash bins have been installed. A 7.5-kilometer irrigation pipeline has been laid down, alongside the planting of 1,136 trees and 68,756 shrubs.

Another project was completed near residential buildings on K. Azerbayev Street, numbered 6/1 to 6/5. This involved laying 2,065 square meters of paving stones and creating bike paths totaling 750 meters. Ten outdoor lighting poles were installed and 75 trees planted.

The square near building No. 9/1 on A. Bolekbaev Street has also been beautified. The project included laying 900 square meters of paving stones and greening the area.

Three shade shelters and 19 outdoor lighting poles were installed, along with a football field and a workout area.

Special attention is given to courtyard spaces. In 2026, 11 courtyards in the Sarayshyk district were enhanced as part of the 'Budget of Public Participation' initiative.

These improvements took place at the following addresses: T. Zhurgenev Street, 18/2; R. Koshkarbayev Avenue, 60; K. Azerbayev Street, numbered 6 through 6/5; and A. Baitursynov Street, numbers 17/2, 17, 19, and 27.

Greenery remains a key focus of the beautification efforts. A total of 2,357 trees have been planted throughout the district, enhancing the streets, courtyards, and public spaces.

The comprehensive development of the Sarayshyk district continues with enhancements to pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, the creation of new recreational and sports spaces, and expanded green areas.

It's noteworthy that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev had previously instructed the continuation of systematic efforts to develop urban infrastructure, beautify, and green Astana. Beautification efforts are being undertaken in all six districts of the capital. In recent years, around 500 public and courtyard spaces have been landscaped in Astana.
