Pilot Projects for Power Grid Upgrades Completed in Shymkent and Turkistan Region Under National Initiative

Pilot projects aimed at upgrading power grids have been completed in Shymkent and the Turkistan Region as part of the National Energy and Utility Sector Modernization Project.

ON"SUTIK Zharik Transit" LLP has successfully concluded two pilot projects in Shymkent and the Turkistan Region. In Shymkent, the 35 kV "L-Kaitpas" and "L-XXI Pertszerzd" overhead transmission lines were reconstructed, covering a total length of 14.37 km. Old steel-aluminum conductors were replaced with modern high-temperature conductors featuring a composite core.

The Shymkent project increased the line capacity by 27 MW, improved the reliability and quality of electricity supply for 24,000 customers, and reduced network wear from 81% to 20%.

The innovative composite conductors enhance load capacity without the need for extensive pole reconstructions, extend equipment life, and reduce technical energy losses.

In the Turkistan Region, 31 overhead transmission line objects of 0.4 kV, totaling 89.763 km, were reconstructed. The project involved replacing worn-out poles with reinforced concrete ones and implementing self-supporting insulated wires (SSIW), which reduced wear from 87.3% to 0%, enhanced supply reliability for 3,582 customers, and significantly reduced accident rates, ensuring higher operational safety of the networks.

The SSIW technology minimizes technical disruptions, prevents short circuits caused by wire clashing, and improves network resilience to adverse weather conditions.

Project financing was secured through a credit line from JSC "Bank CenterCredit," with JSC "Kazakhstan Housing Company" providing a positive decision for interest rate subsidies. All allocated funds were fully utilized for contractor settlements.

These pilot projects support the adoption of modern technologies within the power grid complex, decreasing infrastructure wear, improving energy efficiency, and enhancing electricity supply quality for over 27,500 regional consumers.

ON"SUTIK Zharik Transit" LLP continues systematic efforts to upgrade the power grid infrastructure, ensuring reliable and sustainable energy supply for both residents and businesses.
