Kazakhstan Commissions 7 Out of 10 Planned Renewable Energy Projects for 2026

The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan continues its consistent efforts to develop renewable energy sources.

By 2026, the country plans to commission 10 renewable energy facilities with a total installed capacity of 245 MW. To date, 7 facilities with a combined capacity of 212 MW have already been commissioned.

Among the commissioned projects are:

• A 50 MW wind power plant by Aspan Energo LLP in the Kostanay region;
• A 20 MW solar power plant by Stellar Energy LLP in the Mangystau region;
• A 22.6 MW solar power plant by Altyn Solar Energy LLP in the Kostanay region;
• A 20 MW solar power plant by Jetisu Terra Power LLP in the Zhetisu region;
• Three wind power plants by Hyperborea LLP in the Karaganda region with a total capacity of 100 MW.

By the end of this year, construction and commissioning of 3 additional projects are planned:

• 2 solar power plants by Alhena LLP in the Kyzylorda region with a capacity of 30 MW;
• A 3.2 MW small hydroelectric power plant by Tauenergo LLP in the Turkistan region.

The implementation of renewable energy projects contributes to strengthening the country's energy security, attracting investments, creating new jobs, and increasing the share of environmentally friendly generation in Kazakhstan's energy balance.
