Kazakhstan Implements Digitalization to Enhance Construction Sector Oversight
Kazakhstan's construction sector strengthens oversight through digitalization, improving quality and accountability measures.

Digitalization is set to strengthen oversight in the construction sector. During a government press conference on the development of the real sector of the economy, the Minister of Industry and Construction, Yersayin Nagaspaev, addressed journalists' questions about measures being taken to ensure construction quality.
The Minister emphasized that the enactment of the Construction Code has reinforced state architectural and construction oversight measures. New functions, such as rapid response, have been introduced. The State Architectural and Construction Control (GASK) now has the ability to inspect sites during construction, halt work, and even revoke licenses.
The warranty on buildings has been extended: 5 years for construction projects, 10 years for load-bearing structures, facades, and roofing. Emergency services are now listed in the acceptance certificate responsibilities.

"There are many such innovations. Our task now is to keep these under strict government control, and we will ensure this. We will introduce digitalization at all stages. Together with interested state bodies, we are developing a mechanism for installing cameras at construction sites to monitor the building process. We are also considering this: if the documentation is not in digital form, the Ministry of Finance will not settle payments with contractors. Previously, everything was in paper format, but now we are requiring all materials to be digitized to ensure future accountability," emphasized the minister, as reported in the announcement.
