Child Protection, Urban Development Control, and Public Transport Operations Discussed in Almaty
Almaty Mayor Darkhan Satybaldy addressed child protection, urban development, and public transport in a recent meeting, emphasizing the city's readiness for winter.

Almaty Mayor Darkhan Satybaldy held an administrative meeting focused on child protection, adherence to construction standards, the city's sanitary condition, public transport operations, and the preparation of municipal services for winter.
The primary topics were the prevention of violence against children and bullying, as well as the collaboration between responsible agencies. In 2027, Almaty plans to open a specialized unit where children who have suffered from violence can receive medical, psychological, and legal assistance. The necessity of expanding Child Support Center No. 1 was also discussed.
Next, the results of the urban development control department were addressed. Currently, 1,346 constructions are underway in Almaty, 377 of which are publicly funded and 969 are commercial. Since the beginning of the year, 1,944 unscheduled inspections have been conducted, uncovering 1,236 violations. Total fines imposed amounted to 619.4 million tenge.
Since early October, work has been halted at 22 construction sites. Licenses for 570 have been suspended due to violations of licensing requirements, with another 45 licenses revoked. Additionally, 53 illegal structures have been demolished in the city.

The discussion also covered issues with the handover of utility networks in residential complexes. In some buildings, developers fail to transfer utilities to servicing organizations, resulting in residents facing interruptions in utility services. Darkhan Satybaldy instructed authorities to enforce stricter control over construction quality and the fulfillment of developers' obligations.
Regarding excavation work, the mayor demanded that road surfaces be properly restored and that repeated excavations on recently repaired sections be prevented.
Furthermore, Satybaldy ordered an enhancement of the city's sanitation, including timely removal of construction debris, cleaning of ditches, and tidying up areas after repair and maintenance work.
Additionally, Darkhan Satybaldy called for an inspection of municipal services' readiness for winter and measures to improve public transport operations, particularly on routes where residents have reported overcrowding during peak hours.
