Eco Event 'Clean Yard - Clean Environment' Held at Nursery School in Astana
Nursery School No. 66 'Tolagay' in Astana hosted the ecological event 'Clean Yard - Clean Environment', promoting environmental care among children and parents.

Nursery School No. 66 'Tolagay' in Astana hosted the citywide ecological event 'Clean Yard - Clean Environment', as reported by the official website of the Astana akimat.
The event was initiated by the Educational and Methodological Center for Supplementary Education of Children, aiming to foster an ecological culture among children and parents, instill care for the environment, and promote the reuse of household waste.
Several themed stations were set up for participants as part of the event. Parents and staff of the nursery school engaged in cleaning the premises, tidying up flowerbeds, and taking care of green spaces.
A significant focus was placed on creative reuse of secondary materials. During a workshop, participants learned how to create useful and decorative items from plastic bottles, cardboard, paper, and caps.
"Today’s 'Clean Yard – Clean Environment' event is not just about cleaning the surroundings, but an important initiative instilling ecological culture and responsibility in the younger generation. When children learn from a young age to cherish nature, give new life to waste, and honor our national values, this truly embodies the 'Taza Kazakhstan' concept," noted Aynur Amirkhanova, a methodologist at the Educational and Methodological Center for Supplementary Education of Children.
Additionally, the children participated in the national intellectual game 'Mangala', a poetry parade about nature and cleanliness, and performed a musical piece 'Jolly Drums' using instruments made from recycled materials.
One of the stations featured the 'Eco Fashion – Second Life for Waste' show, where children and parents showcased clothing made from secondary materials. Furthermore, a display of creative works made from recyclable materials was organized at the nursery school.
Event participant Aysaule Ondaganova shared that within the project, a pouf was made from ordinary plastic bottles.
"To create it, we used cardboard and bottle bottoms. What impressed me was not just the creation of items from existing materials, but the effort of people who made these dresses. I was very surprised; it’s truly wonderful," she remarked.
She mentioned that children, parents, and caregivers came together for the preparation and execution of the event.
Organizers highlighted that such activities help children practically understand the importance of taking care of nature and demonstrate that even common household waste can be repurposed creatively.
