"Clean Kazakhstan": in Jetisu youth held an eco-event on the shores of Balkhash

In the Jetisu region, the "ECORace" event took place, aimed at preserving the cleanliness of the shores of Lake Balkhash, as part of the national program "Clean Kazakhstan". Volunteers from among the youth of the region participated in the event, as reported by the press service of the akim of Jetisu region.

Description of the event

The organizer of the event was the State Communal Enterprise "Jetisu Jastary". The event started near the village of Koltaban in the Aksu district. On the way to Lake Balkhash, the organizers stopped at cars, handed out gloves and special trash bags to drivers and passengers, urging them not to leave waste in nature, but to give it to the volunteers. A total of about 50 cars were covered. Participants who handed in household waste received souvenir gifts.

Finish point and results

The finish point of the event was the area near the police station in the village of Lepse in the Sarkan district. During the event, participants cleaned the roadside and the coastal area leading to Lake Balkhash, as well as conducted a clean-up of the shores. The collected waste was transported to the finish location.

Importance of events

According to the Department of Energy and Housing and Communal Services of Jetisu, during the event it was possible not only to clean the area but also to attract the attention of residents and guests of the region to issues of ecological culture. The head of the organizational department of "Jetisu Jastary", Adilet Almekaev, noted that such initiatives show that caring for nature should become a habit for every person.

It is worth noting that since the beginning of the year, more than 227,000 residents of Jetisu have participated in eco-events under the "Clean Kazakhstan" program, with 16,000 tons of waste removed and about 135,000 seedlings planted.
