Centralized Water Supply Completed in Lepsy Village, Zhetisu
Centralized water supply project in Lepsy village, Zhetisu, enhances quality of life and tourism. Completion of water connections is underway.

The issue of centralized water supply has been successfully addressed in the village of Lepsy, Alakol District, Zhetisu. This village was ranked among the top five best tourist villages in Kazakhstan following a national competition last year. Providing the village with clean drinking water will not only enhance the quality of life for local residents but also facilitate further tourism development in the region. This was announced by the governor of the region, Beibut Isabayev, during a meeting with district residents. He emphasized the necessity to complete the connection of all village residents to the water network, as reported by Housing and Utilities 24, citing the Energy and Housing and Utilities Department of Zhetisu's official website.
According to the regional Energy and Housing and Utilities Department, the project for upgrading and constructing a water supply system in Lepsy village commenced last year.
The project involves laying 35 km of main water pipelines, installing 708 wells, drilling two boreholes each 226 meters deep, and constructing a clean water reservoir and a pumping station. The pumping equipment is already connected to the power grid, and the main base and all auxiliary facilities are enclosed. To ensure fire safety, 135 fire hydrants are planned to be installed.

Simultaneously, the construction of subscriber networks is underway. Fifteen kilometers of distribution networks have been laid, and the work is fully completed. In total, it is planned to connect 343 houses. As of now, pipelines have been laid to 328 houses, and about 130 residents are already connected to the new water supply system.
- It is necessary to fully complete the connection of residents to the centralized water system, - emphasized B. Isabayev, instructing the district mayor to prioritize this issue. - I am also aware of the water issues in the village of Bulakty. Funds have already been allocated from the local budget, and a project has been prepared to reconstruct 52.4 km of water supply networks. Work should begin next year, - the governor added.
A resident of Lepsy village, Irina Abdukhalikova, shared her opinion:
- For the second year, construction works on the centralized water supply are underway in our village. This is not just a project, but an enhancement of our infrastructure and tremendous help to the residents. Water is flowing by gravity, but not everywhere. In some parts of the village, there was no water at all, and test connections have now begun. We hope that water will reach every home by winter, - she said.
As of today, 93% of populated areas in the Zhetisu region have access to clean drinking water. This year, work is underway in 11 villages, with completion expected in 8 of them by year-end, while 3 projects will continue next year.
