Over 17,000 km of Power Grids Repaired Ahead of Heating Season

Over 17,000 km of power grids have been repaired in preparation for the heating season. The readiness of energy enterprises, as well as electric and thermal networks for the upcoming heating season, was discussed at the recent meeting of the Republican Headquarters under the State Energy Supervision and Control Committee of the Ministry of Energy.

The meeting was attended by leaders from regional akimats, joint-stock companies such as KEGOC, Samruk-Energo, CAEC, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, QazaqGaz Aimaq, KazMunayGas, Karazhira, Intergas Central Asia, LLP Kazakhstan Utility Systems, as well as representatives of energy enterprises across the country.

During the summer period, a substantial amount of repair work was carried out on energy facilities nationwide. Currently, capital repairs have been fully completed on 50 main equipment units at power plants, including 4 power units, 28 boilers, and 18 turbines. Repairs are still ongoing on 3 power units, 26 boilers, and 21 turbines.

As part of the preparations for thermal networks, repairs have been fully completed on 334 km out of a planned 377 km, accounting for 88.6%. Significant work has also been completed on electrical networks. More than 17,000 km of planned overhead power lines have been overhauled in preparation for the upcoming heating season. Additionally, 426 substations out of 444 planned and 3,385 distribution and transformer units out of 3,408 have been repaired.

Hence, the necessary setup of main station equipment for the start of the heating season is complete, and the normative fuel stock is ensured. The preparation of electrical and thermal networks is at the final stage.

"Preparation for the heating season is being carried out as planned. The main volumes of repair work have already been completed. Now it is necessary to complete the remaining activities, ensure the readiness of equipment and networks, and submit the documents for obtaining ready-for-operation certificates promptly," noted Committee Chairman Yerzhan Yertayev.

Particular attention was given to objects under special control. Specific tasks and completion deadlines have been identified for each. Instructions were given to complete the remaining work, supply the necessary materials and equipment, and mobilize personnel as soon as possible.

Following the meeting, regional headquarters were instructed to intensify control over the final stage of preparation and ensure the complete readiness of energy infrastructure facilities for the start of the heating season, reports HCS24 from the Ministry of Energy website.
